Like you, I care deeply about what's going on in America and in the world today, and probably like you, I'm very frustrated with how things are going.  Not long ago when I was asked to review a book about US foreign policy I got frustrated enough to begin working on this book:

Frustrated at the destructive lies of the right;

Frustrated at the obvious short-term thinking that doesn't really solve our problems;

Frustrated at the current political stalemate and the deterioration in the quality of political discourse;

Frustrated at the media's fragmented view of even important issues;

Frustrated that no one, as far as I knew, had put together a complete picture of what's really going on, why, and what we ought to do about it.

So I sat down and started writing this book, both as a way to explore these important issues, and to see if I could influence the political process.

Now that the book is done I actually feel much better, because I think I understand what's happening, and I have found that there are in fact a great many solutions and opportunities to improve things in the US and around the world.

I hope that the book helps you understand what's going on, and what you can do to make the world better.
